Munal’s practice specializes in the placement of W&I insurance for domestic and outbound investments for Middle Eastern and African clients, as well as  advising international investors investing into the Middle East and Africa. Munal has placed numerous policies for a range of clients, including corporates, institutional investors, management teams, sovereign funds and private equity investee companies.

Recent Experience

Munal’s recent experience includes:

• Working with a key UAE sovereign wealth fund client and Magic Circle law firm to place W&I policies for the fund’s acquisition of a pharmaceutical service provider headquartered in Turkey with a global presence.
• Working with a new client, a leading managed cloud kitchen platform headquartered in Dubai, and a US law firm on the corporate’s acquisition of various fast food brands in the GCC, UK and the USA.
• Working with a large European family office based in Dubai and a leading local UAE law firm on the office’s acquisition of a leading mobile virtual network operator operating in UAE, Kuwait, Oman and KSA.
• Working with a key UAE sovereign wealth fund client and a Silver Circle law firm on the fund’s acquisition of a leading fibre connectivity services business in the UK.
• Working with a leading UAE sovereign wealth fund and a leading US law firm on the fund’s acquisition of Egypt’s largest and growing consumer lender.
• Working with a global private schools group and a leading international law firm on the group’s acquisition of a highly rated school in the UAE.
• Advising a state backed Saudi corporate on their minority interest in an international chemical manufacturing business.
• Working with a long standing UAE private equity client on their acquisition of a group of dental practices based in Dubai.
• Advising a UAE conglomerate and a Magic Circle law firm on the corporate’s acquisition of an online luxury fashion platform headquarters in the UK.
• Working with a global technology and investment company on its acquisition of a UAE headquartered leading home service aggregator platform in the UAE.

Munal is an English-qualified lawyer corporate lawyer who trained and worked in the CMS London office.

Munal spent five years working on corporate matters with a focus on cross-border M&A and private equity deals. She has experience across a wide range of industries, including Consumer Goods, Energy & Infrastructure and Technology.

Prior to joining HWF, Munal worked at a FinTech startup acting as their Head of Partnerships and working with the CEO to build their pipeline of sales and strategic partners, as well as acting as in-house counsel.
