Alex ist ausgebildeter Anwalt und verbrachte die ersten fünf Jahre seiner Karriere bei der Anwaltskanzlei Quinn Emanuel, wo er sich auf komplexe kommerzielle Rechtsstreitigkeiten und Schiedsverfahren spezialisierte, die oft einen erheblichen grenzüberschreitenden Bezug hatten.

Unmittelbar vor seinem Wechsel zu HWF war Alex als Senior Associate bei Allen & Overy tätig. Dort war er an einer Reihe von umfangreichen Streitfällen im Bereich Banken und Finanzdienstleistungen beteiligt.
